Memorial & Sympathy

For the name you're not ready to stop saying.

There is no right gift for this. There is only something made carefully, with the spelling correct and the dates right, that arrives without a sales pitch attached.

Take as long as you need on this page. Nothing here expires.

— Every memorial order is read by a person before anything is made.

Card included · written by hand

“Thinking of you, and of him. There is no rush on any of this — we are just glad you let us make something.”

Your words, in our hand, on the card in the box.

How we handle these orders

Five rules we wrote down so we could not quietly break them.

Most personalized gift shops run a memorial order through the same funnel as a birthday mug. These are the places we deliberately do the opposite, even where it costs us money.

Never discounted

No sale banners, no coupon fields, no “last chance” anything on this collection. Grief is not a conversion event.

No upsells at checkout

You will not be offered a matching keyring while paying for your father's portrait.

No marketing email afterwards

Memorial customers are excluded from every campaign by default. You hear from us about your order, then not again.

A person reads every message

Names, dates and the words on the card are checked by hand before anything reaches a machine.

Pets get the same care

We do not rank the loss. A pet memorial follows every rule above, without exception.

Start where you are

Three different errands, and they need different things.

Someone else's loss

You are sending this to a grieving household and you barely know what to say. Start with pieces that do not require you to have a photo of the person who died.

Your own

This one is for your house. Photo pieces, name pieces, and things sized for a shelf rather than a wall — all proofed by a person first.

A pet

Fifteen years is a long time to have someone at the door. Portraits, paw impressions and night lights, from photos taken on a phone.

The collection

Every piece here is proofed before print.

If you are stuck on the card

You do not have to say something profound. You have to say something.

The most common reason a sympathy gift never gets sent is that the sender cannot finish the message. These are lines people have actually thanked us for.

Tell us which one to write, or send your own. We copy it out exactly.

Before you order

If the photo is bad, or the timing is awkward, just ask us.

Faded print, low-resolution scan, a screenshot from an old phone, a group photo where they are half turned away — we have worked with all of it, and we will tell you honestly whether it can be saved before you pay.

Funeral homes & hospices

We keep a small trade programme for organisations placing repeat orders on behalf of families, including a no-account ordering form and net-30 terms.

The practical part

Type-set pieces ship in 3 business days. Photo pieces need proof approval first, which usually adds a day. Tell us the date in your order notes and we prioritise it and confirm by email whether it is realistic — we would rather say no than have it arrive late.

Yes. Several pieces here use only a name, dates and your words. These are usually the better choice when sending to someone else’s household and you do not want to presume which photo they would want.

Send it anyway. Repairing creases, removing a background, correcting colour cast on a 1970s print, and separating one person out of a group shot are all included at no extra cost. If it genuinely cannot be used, we tell you before charging you.

No. Ordering anything from this collection excludes you from every campaign list automatically. You get the order confirmation, the proof, and the shipping note. Nothing else.

Yes, and this is what most people do. Enter their address at checkout and write your message in the gift note field — it is written out by hand and no pricing or invoice goes in the box.
